Positive Perspectives.
Including all perspectives as we envision the future.

Ever thought a career in engineering wasn’t for you? Think again.
Creating a world that works for everyone means everyone having genuine opportunities to contribute. We know that we need to include a much wider range of perspectives if we’re going to meet the challenges of the future in a fair and equitable way.
Building More Inclusive Workplaces
The ACE Building Inclusivity campaign is just one of the initiatives underway to help transform our industry, ensuring more inclusive workplaces and dismantling barriers that may have stood in the way of promising careers.
The Building Inclusivity Campaign is focused on widening access to careers in the built environment for members of the LGBTQ+, neurodivergent and Ethnic Minority communities.
-
We’re looking beyond Pride celebrations to ensure LGBTQ+ colleagues can “walk into the workplace and feel welcome and celebrate their life and life choices.”
-
Recognition that “one size doesn’t fit all” is driving change not only in our workplaces but in how our industry outputs can better serve the neurodivergent community.
-
The need to take urgent, proactive steps to address racial inequalities in the workplace is recognised by participants, many of whom are already embedding measurable targets and ongoing action plans into their organisational priorities.
Encouraging Women in STEM
Despite the long history and exciting present of women in engineering, it can be seen as a traditionally male-oriented environment. While women still make up less than one-third of those in Higher Education studying STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), we’re determined to help shift that perspective.
STEM Ambassadors and employer-specific schemes throughout our industry are encouraging more women and girls into STEM roles, ensuring a more representative workforce is better equipped to deliver on global priorities.
